I have been in the fitness industry for 15+ years and have helped 1000s of clients and 100s of trainers during this time. I have been a personal trainer, training manager, general manager, program builder and instructor at National Personal Training Institute. My passion has always been mentoring people in fitness, health and all around wellness.
My journey started in 1st grade with my first diet with my mom and continued struggling with “diets” on and off until my late teens and early 20s. This, unfortunately, is also the struggle most of our clients are going through as they walk through our doors. I had to learn the science of health, fitness, weight loss and physical healing. Let us help and finally give you the tools and knowledge for your success! I still continue this passion for learning today and read, watch or continued education courses and try to learn something new every day to be the best I can be for my clients.
I have trained clients as young as 8 and as young at heart as 92. My background in the movement for healing, martial arts, lifting weights for strength & power, meditation and injury prevention gives me the ability to go from training my Restore group to training high-level athletes and everyone in between. We pride ourselves on the ability to take any client and get them to be the best version of themselves as they can be. Come see what becoming a Pro is all about!
Fitness…athleticism, has always been an important part of my life. Competition, healthy competition has been part of my life for as long as I remember. I was always looking for that one workout, that one completely satisfying workout that I wanted to teach other people. About 10-years ago, I was introduced to Russian kettlebells. After one workout, it was what I knew I wanted to share. During my training to become certified, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. This diagnosis came out of nowhere, from aggressive training one day, to debilitating pain the next. During this process, I learned about how to really treat my body. Learning how to eat right, and supplement when necessary has given me a whole new journey. I went on to become level I then level II certified through RKC.
The most important aspect of training for me is to teach everyone correct form and keep them injury free, then watch them get more confident and stronger! The changes in your body come naturally when you learn to eat right, and put the work in the gym! We work with everyone from high school athletes to those who are retired. My favorite part of training people is to watch the “ah-ha” moments…that moment when they figure out how their body works with a particular move. Whether it be a kettlebell swing or a push-up, or a pull-up, or a deeper squat, or to touch their toes…it is so different for everyone. I am always striving to make our clients feel comfortable in our environment, and make them excited about pushing themselves to their next level. It’s not about what the scale says, it’s about being comfortable in your own skin!
I can help you reach your fitness goals by making your training sessions something you look forward to (o.k., it’s a love/hate relationship), but you will love the results!! Even as a personal trainer, I make the decision every day to maintain a healthy body. Fitness is a life-changing decision…it’s is not a 30-day project! It is more fun to workout with someone than by yourself. Fitness should be fun, nutrition should not be guesswork.
I strengthen the body to empower the individual…I look forward to working with you!

Chiropractic, Trigger Point Therapy, Cupping, Muscle Work, Rehab
I am so excited to be joining a wonderful team at Protege Fitness. I would like to introduce myself and give you a little back round on me.
My name is Dr Maria Aagesen-Reznecheck I have been practicing chiropractic for 30 years. I had a large integrated clinic in St Louis Park for 26 years.
Due to health conditions I closed that clinic to be closer to home in Coon Rapids. I met Barb and Scott 4 years ago and having worked with them in the past I knew the amazing abilities and knowledge they both bring to health and wellness.
I think the combination of chiropractic, massage, exercise rehabilitation and nutrition is the best approach to natural medicine and healing many health issues.
When I am treating a patient I use a number of different adjusting techniques for the spine and all extremities: manual(with the hands),
activator(a spring loaded tool), drop piece, and SOT blocking.
I combine the adjusting with soft tissue techniques: massage, trigger point therapy, active release therapy, propioceptive neuromuscular facilitation,
applied kinesiology, cupping, graston, gua sha, tai chi needle
I love to treat all ages of patients from birth to elderly. I have seen more babies and pregnant women than most chiropractors. I am comfortable
with high risk pregnancies and infants with congenital health issues. Sports injuries is what got me into chiropractic. In high school I played volleyball,
basketball and fast pitch softball. In college I played volleyball and fast pitch. I was injured in college and went to a chiropractor for the first time
I was so impressed I decided to go into chiropractic. I treat sports injures to the spine and all extremities. I have extensive knowledge and experience
in treating auto injuries and workers compensation injuries.
